Park Ji-hoon
né en 1980 à Jeju, KR

Biography
Park Ji-hoon weaves hemp and ramie on a hand loom. He dyes his own yarn in an indigo vat he keeps alive all year round, taking its temperature every morning. Colour comes through successive baths, twelve and sometimes fifteen, until it reaches a blue that no longer returns the light. Born on Jeju and trained in Seoul, he went back to the island in 2015 to take over the workshop of a retired weaver. His pieces hang without a stretcher, from a paulownia bar, and keep the irregular selvedge of the loom. He works slowly: four to six pieces a year. The gallery has represented him since 2026.
